چکیده

The Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) is one of a new generation of detectors of gravitational radiation. The existence of gravitational radiation was first predicted by Einstein in 1916, however gravity waves have not yet been directly observed. One source of gravitation radiation is binary inspiral. Two compact bodies orbiting each other, such as a pair of black holes, lose energy to gravitational radiation. As the system loses energy the bodies spiral towards each other. This causes their orbital speed and the amount of gravitational radiation to increase, producing a characteristic “chirp” waveform in the LIGO sensitive band.

Advances in Black Hole Physics and Dark Matter Modelling of the Galactic Halo Primordial Black Holes and Galactic Formation

One of the most important unresolved issues of modern physics is the presence of cold dark matter (CDM). Such dark matter appears to be essential in explaining the observed galactic rotation curves and the missing Cosmological dark matter. Recent attention has focused on galactic halos as an explanation of the galactic rotation curves, and on the possibility that galactic halos may consist of m...

Gravitational Waves from Coalescing Black Hole Macho Binaries

If MACHOs are black holes of mass ∼0.5 M,, they must have been formed in the early universe when the temperature was ∼1 GeV. We estimate that in this case in our Galaxy’s halo out to ∼ 50 kpc there exist ∼5 # black hole binaries the coalescence times of which are comparable to the age of the universe, so that the 8 10 coalescence rate will be ∼ events yr per galaxy. This suggests that we can ex...

0 Density Distribution and Shape of Galactic Dark Halo Can be Determined by Low Frequency Gravitational Waves ?

Under the assumption that the Milky Way’s dark halo consists of primordial black hole MACHOs (PBHMACHOs), the mass density of the halo can be measured by the low frequency gravitational waves (10 Hz ∼< νgw ∼< 10 −1 Hz) from PBHMACHO binaries whose fraction is ∼ 10. We find that ten years observation by LISA will detect ∼ 700 PBHMACHO binaries and enable us to determine the power index of the de...

Low frequency gravitational waves from black hole MACHO binaries

The intensity of low frequency gravitational waves from black hole MACHO binaries is studied. First we estimate the gravitational wave background produced by black hole MACHO binaries in the Milky Way halo as well as the cosmological gravitational wave background produced by the extragalactic black hole MACHO binaries. It is found that the cosmological gravitational wave background due to black...
